Teletherapy
Accessible, secure therapy wherever you are in California and Washington State.
Simple to set up. All you need is an hour in a private, confidential space (a room or even a parked car will do), a computer, tablet, or smartphone, and a reliable internet or cellular connection.
I see all of my clients remotely using Zoom video for therapy sessions (teletherapy).
Teletherapy provides many advantages.
Saves time. Meeting remotely eliminates the commute. Through your device, I'm brought directly into your private space, where we can have a HIPAA-compliant and confidential therapy session.
Consistency, wherever you are. You don't have to skip a session because you're traveling or under the weather. We can meet while you're anywhere in California or Washington, and continuity matters most during the weeks when life is hardest.
Easier scheduling. Since my availability isn't limited to days in an office, I have more flexibility to reschedule within the same week when something comes up for you.
Teletherapy for Individuals
I work with individuals using AEDP, a well-researched relational approach rooted in attachment theory, along with Emotionally Focused Therapy and parts work through Internal Family Systems (IFS), to help you explore emotions, understand your patterns, and create meaningful change. This kind of work translates naturally to video because it happens in the conversation between us, not in a technique that requires a particular room. Teletherapy is well suited for work on anxiety, trauma recovery, emotional awareness, and personal growth.
Online sessions also lower the barriers that keep many people from starting therapy at all. There's no commute, no waiting room, and you're in a space that already feels like yours. Many men in particular find that teletherapy offers an accessible, low-pressure way to begin exploring emotions, challenges, and relationships in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment.
Teletherapy for Couples
Teletherapy is also highly effective for couples therapy. Using Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, I help partners slow down conflict, understand emotional cycles, rebuild trust, and strengthen connection. Couples can attend sessions together from the same location or separate spaces, depending on what works best for you.
Online couples therapy offers flexibility while still allowing for deep, relational work. Many couples appreciate the ability to attend sessions without added travel stress, especially when balancing work, parenting, or long distance schedules.
Does online therapy actually work?
It's a fair question, and the research answer is yes. Studies consistently find that teletherapy produces outcomes comparable to in-person treatment, and Emotionally Focused Therapy in particular has been shown to be highly effective through telehealth. In my experience, the approaches I use translate naturally to video because the change happens in our conversation and in what you experience during the session, not in anything that requires us to share a room.
What surprises many people is that online sessions can actually deepen the work. You're in your own space rather than an unfamiliar office, which often makes it easier to settle in and be honest. Couples frequently find that being at home, sometimes in the very rooms where their arguments happen, makes the work feel less abstract and more connected to their real lives.
If you're unsure whether online therapy is right for you, that's a natural thing to wonder about. It's exactly the kind of question a free consultation is for, and you're welcome to bring it.
